Share the Joy

The Holiday Season every year can be challenging for a lot of people for a lot of reasons. . Recently losing a spouse, parent, child, friend, can spark sadness and reignite grief. Being in a stressful and painful relationship. Being financially in a bad place. And just being unhappy with ourselves.

These and many more reasons heighten depression, sadness, grief and loss as we watch everyone around us look for reasons to be happy. And appear happier than we are and ever think we will be again.

I have been there too.

For those of us who are blessed with positive outlooks and see the joy in this time of year, look around and see if anyone you know is having trouble. Are they going to be alone? Do they need anything? Don’t ask what they need. Be empathetic. Observant.

Invite those who are going to be alone to celebrate with you in some way. Help them to understand there are others who care about them.

As we approach Christmas, Hanukkah and the end of 2022, I am so very thankful for my family, friends, work colleagues and their support over the year. Like everyone, I had my share of ups and downs. And I might not have ended the year on a positive note without their support.

Looking forward to 2023…. love yourself. Be kind to yourself. Make the choice to be happy, even if it only lasts for 5 minutes a day. Celebrate who you are by having a party for yourself. I know, it all sounds kind of corny. Give a smile: get a smile. Give some love: get some love. It.Does.Work.

Peace, joy, love to everything during this Holiday Season no matter what your faith is or what you believe. May 2023 bring you health, happiness and joy.
